1:1 SEN Teaching Assistant (Primary)
Prospero Teaching are working closely with a primary school in Lytchett to recruit a dedicated 1:1 Teaching Assistant to support a pupil with Special Educational Needs (SEN).
This is a rewarding and hands-on role, ideal for individuals who are patient, resilient, and passionate about supporting children with additional needs. The successful candidate will provide consistent, calm, and structured 1:1 support throughout the school day, helping the pupil to engage with learning, regulate emotions, and develop confidence and independence.
The school offers a supportive and inclusive environment, where Teaching Assistants play a key role in both academic and pastoral support.
This role would particularly suit candidates with experience or backgrounds in:
1. SEN Support
2. Youth Work
3. Care Work
4. Behaviour Support
5. Psychology or Counselling
6. Sports Coaching
7. Mentoring or Pastoral Roles
The Role:
8. Providing 1:1 support to a pupil with SEN
9. Supporting emotional regulation and positive behaviour
10. Assisting with learning activities and classroom engagement
11. Acting as a positive role model and consistent support figure
12. Implementing strategies set out in EHCPs and support plans
13. Working closely with the class teacher and SENCO

Experience, Training & Qualifications:
22. Experience working with children or young people with SEN
23. Strong interpersonal and behaviour support skills
24. SEN experience (Autism, SEMH or additional needs preferred)
25. Care, youth work, or mentoring experience welcomed
26. Up-to-date Safeguarding training (or willingness to complete)
Eligibility:
27. Right to Work in the UK
28. Enhanced DBS on the Update Service (or willing to apply)
29. Two professional, child-related references
