Exciting Opportunity for a Commissioning Engineer

As a Commissioning Engineer, you'll work with state-of-the-art CNC machine tools, Siemens PLC/CNC controls, and sophisticated automated machinery that is shaping the future of precision engineering.
Primary Responsibilities
Commission and test advanced CNC machine tools and automation equipment both on-site and in factory environments, ensuring seamless system integration from installation through to handover.
Configure and load Siemens PLC/CNC controls, testing electrical control circuits, safety systems, and variable speed drives to ensure optimal performance.
Diagnose and resolve faults across automated systems, including motors, actuators, robotics, MCCs, and industrial instrumentation.
Produce commissioning records, as-built drawings, functional specifications, and technical files in line with EC/UK regulations and GAMP guidelines.
Deliver technical handovers to clients, providing on-site training and mentoring junior engineers.
Support installation phases by liaising with project managers and customers throughout the project lifecycle.
Qualifications & Skills
Degree in Electrical Engineering, Mechatronics, or related discipline, or a time-served apprenticeship with strong industrial automation experience.
Strong knowledge of Siemens PLC/CNC controls, including TIA Portal, SCADA systems, and variable speed drives.
Good understanding of electrical safety regulations and live production environments.
Experience commissioning complex automated machinery and control systems.
Familiarity with EC/UK compliance standards, GAMP guidelines, and technical documentation.
Excellent communication and stakeholder management skills.
Proactive attitude with strong fault-finding and problem-solving abilities.
Willingness to travel nationally and internationally, with flexibility for occasional nights/weekends when required.
