Role Overview
We are looking for a reliable and enthusiastic individual to join us as a Trainee Machine Operator. This is an excellent opportunity to begin or progress a career in the timber industry. Full training will be provided, including the chance to develop machine operating skills within a fast‑paced sawmill environment.
Key Responsibilities
* Assist with the operation of sawmill machinery and equipment (training provided)
* Handle, sort, and stack timber products safely and efficiently
* Support production teams with material preparation and workflow
* Follow stock control processes for incoming and outgoing timber
* Adhere to all health and safety guidelines at all times
* Carry out any additional tasks needed to support the smooth running of the sawmill
Qualifications and Experience
* Essential:
* A positive attitude and a willingness to learn new skills.
* Ability to work as part of a team in a physically demanding role.
* Physically fit and capable of carrying out manual tasks
* Desirable:
* Previous experience in industrial, or manufacturing environments
* Interest in developing machinery operation skills
