Job overview
We are looking for individuals who are already working within one of our clinical services where there is the opportunity to promote our NIHR research projects. In particular (but not exclusively) we are interested in hearing from those whose clinical area involves working age adults.
Experience of clinical research is not essential but an interest in research and a desire to increase research visibility and opportunity amongst our colleagues and service users is a must. You will work alongside our Clinical Research Team who have extensive knowledge and skills in clinical research and full support will be offered.
Main duties of the job
·Promoting research opportunities
·Highlighting ways and facilitating change to allow research to become more visible within the clinical service.
·To assist with research delivery which may involve the following:
identifying service users who may be eligible to participate in clinical research studies
speaking to service users about the research
receiving informed consent
collecting data in the form of research outcome measures/assessments
·Taking on the role of Principal Investigator/Local Collaborator on any NIHR (National Institute for Health Research) research projects in their service area as deemed appropriate
·Assisting the clinical research team to effectively promote research opportunities within their clinical area and the wider Trust.
·To have an awareness of current NIHR research projects that are open within the Trust
·To attend relevant training specific to conducting research studies Good Clinical Practice, Informed Consent, and other project specific training.
·To liaise with relevant subject leads within the Clinical Research Network and other partner organisations
·To act in accordance with Derbyshire NHS Foundation Trust policies, Good Clinical Practice in research and Research Governance guidelines.
·To travel to other sites around the Trust as necessary
