Nashrock Recruitment is pleased to be supporting a leading international Lloyd’s broker in their search for an experienced Senior Marine Claims Broker. This is a key role within their specialist Marine Claims division, focused on handling complex Hull & Machinery (H&M) and Protection & Indemnity (P&I) claims for a global client base.
The successful candidate will join a highly respected team known for technical excellence and outstanding client service across the marine insurance market. You’ll take ownership of a varied and rewarding workload, acting as a trusted advisor to shipowners, charterers, P&I Clubs, insurers, and other industry stakeholders.
Key Responsibilities
* Manage an active portfolio of marine claims, with emphasis on H&M and P&I, from first notification through to final settlement
* Provide expert claims advice to clients, resolving complex issues promptly and effectively.
* Liaise with surveyors, adjusters, correspondents, and legal counsel worldwide.
* Prepare detailed claim reports, settlement proposals, and market presentations.
* Maintain strong working relationships with underwriters, clients, and global partners.
* Represent the business at client meetings, London Market appointments, and occasional overseas travel.
* Support broking teams with technical claims input during renewals, new business pitches, and market negotiations.
* Ensure compliance with internal procedures, regulatory standards, and Lloyd’s requirements.
* Contribute to process improvements and development of best practices within the claims function.
Skills & Experience Required
* Minimum 5 years’ marine claims experience, with solid knowledge of H&M and/or P&I claims.
* Strong understanding of Lloyd’s and London Market processes.
* Proven ability to manage complex and high-value marine losses.
* Excellent communication skills, with the ability to present technical information clearly.
* Strong analytical and negotiation abilities.
* Confident in building relationships with clients, underwriters, and international partners.
* Highly organised with strong attention to detail and the ability to prioritise effectively.
* Proactive, solutions-focused mindset with a genuine interest in the marine sector.
