What you will do

Provide non‑promotional medical and scientific support for the Chiesi UK business, delivering accurate and timely scientific advice to healthcare professionals on the company’s products and related disease areas.

Contribute to the development and implementation of Chiesi’s UK strategic plan by providing medical insight, building and maintaining credible relationships with Key Opinion Leaders (KOLs) and academic centres, proactively driving evidence generation and supporting local clinical initiatives.

The role is 100% non‑promotional and field‑based, requiring strong scientific/clinical expertise and high‑level communication skills. It is essential to be a self‑starter who can work independently or as part of a team, possess thorough knowledge of the ABPI Code of Practice, and understand the wider NHS environment.


Your responsibilities

* Develop and maintain in‑depth knowledge of relevant products and disease areas.
* Provide fair, balanced and unbiased field‑based medical and scientific support for healthcare professionals’ enquiries.
* Respond to medical information requests and perform literature searches as needed.
* Identify, develop and maintain professional relationships with the health‑care community, especially KOLs and academic centres.
* Share actionable insights from customer feedback with cross‑functional teams.
* Manage UK investigator‑initiated trial (IIT) applications in compliance with regulations and SOPs.
* Provide local input into UK Phase I–IV clinical development activities.
* Help develop and implement the UK Medical Affairs strategic plan, including: design and execution of educational activities; creation of scientific presentations; and support of strategic collaborations.
* Attend national and international scientific meetings to stay current and gather competitive intelligence.
* Support Regional Commercial Teams with expert compliance guidance, training facilitation, technical review of materials, medical social‑media activities, and pharmacovigilance compliance.
* Ensure all actions comply with local, global and national laws, ABPI Code of Practice, company policies, and the ABPI Code of Practice and the Company Code of Ethics.
* Contribute to sustainability initiatives by delivering at least two initiatives per year.


Requirements and qualifications

* Medical, pharmacy or PhD qualification (BSc acceptable with industry experience and demonstrated achievements).
* Evidence of relevant industry experience, including engagement with KOLs.
* In‑depth knowledge of the ABPI Code of Practice.
* Working knowledge of the clinical trial process, including phase III/IV regulations and GCP/GVP.
* Understanding of the NHS environment and collaborative opportunities.
* Willingness to travel across the UK and attend domestic and international conferences; occasional weekend travel required.
* Excellent interpersonal and communication skills across all stakeholder levels.
* Ability to manage multiple stakeholders to achieve objectives.
* Capability to present complex clinical data clearly to varied audiences.
* Responsiveness to ad‑hoc work requests from line and senior managers.
* Commitment to strict compliance with company values, SOPs, ABPI Code and ethics.


Location

Field based covering the South West, including London.
