Job Summary
We are seeking reliable Delivery Driver's Mate to join our small but expanding team. The successful candidate will be responsible for transporting goods in a timely and safe manner as we deliver and collect furniture / white goods for a well-known high street chain. The company operates 7 days a week, with a 5- or 6-day rota. Weekend work may be involved. There will be multi-drop deliveries and collations within Ipswich and surrounding areas, supporting the driver with heavier items; most are a two-man lift. £12.50 starting rate. Working hours are from 9:00 am until 4:00 pm.
Responsibilities
* Assist with loading and unloading deliveries, including heavier items (most loads are a two-man lift).
* Support the driver during multi-drop deliveries and collections within Ipswich and surrounding areas.
* Ensure timely and safe transportation of goods in line with company procedures.
* Maintain good communication with customers and team members.
* Adhere to site and safety requirements, including wearing provided safety gear.
Qualifications & Requirements
* Reliable, organized, and with a good work ethic.
* Good communication skills and customer service orientation.
* Physically fit and healthy, able to lift heavy goods.
* DBS check would be needed; no criminal record.
* Steel toe cap safety boots and high-visibility vest are provided.
* Previous delivery industry experience is ideal but not required; all welcome to apply.
* Driving licence is desirable.
