Overview
Wernick Power, a national provider of temporary power generation solutions and a member of the Wernick Group, is seeking an Advanced Service Engineer. Reporting to the Service Manager, you will uphold the operational functionality and presentation of Wernick Power Solutions (WPS) equipment, including generators, diesel tanks, distribution systems, cabling, and associated ancillaries. You will conduct routine inspections, testing, servicing, attend breakdowns and repairs, and perform installation and commissioning tasks while maintaining high standards of customer service, safety, and quality.
Key Responsibilities
* Adhere to and promote SHEQ group standards.
* Achieve optimum, yet safe productivity levels with designated workload.
* Manage transactional elements of the role such as breakdowns, services, PDIs, determining damage, and timesheets.
* Demonstrate excellent customer service skills.
* Provide Safety Observations for any unsafe practice in the depot or on a customer site.
* Ensure overdue servicing is kept below 6% of total fleet in your designated area.
* Have all training and competencies updated via the PDP skills matrix.
* Provide support outside normal job role as required for the Depot and Service Manager.
* Ensure the company vehicle is kept in good condition and stocked with appropriate tools, oils, consumables, and safety equipment.
* Seek time to self-develop (relevant to role) via training platforms and structured training sessions.
* Provide support for colleagues as required.
Essential Criteria
* Skills and experience in mechanical or electrical disciplines relevant to the equipment involved in the role.
* Competent maintenance routines for field service or depot-based roles.
* Strong fault diagnosis, dismantling, repair, and testing skills for the defined equipment type (repair roles).
* Experience in working with generator engines is essential.
Other Criteria
* Hold a C&G, NVQ, or other recognized professional or vocational qualifications in the relevant technical discipline (Desirable).
* Experience across multiple technical disciplines (mechanical and electrical) (Essential).
* Hands-on experience in service, maintenance, installation, and repair of diesel-driven generators (Essential).
