Main duties of the job
Manage a specialist caseload, providing expert assessment,advice, and support for pain management across the Trust. Receive andprioritise referrals, develop individualised treatment plans, and carry outrelevant nursing procedures. Set up and adjust PCA and epidural analgesia pumpsand give additional analgesia when appropriate. Support patients with complexpain needs and provide clear education to adults and children about pain reliefoptions.
Communicate effectively with patients, carers, and staff atall levels, including those with cognitive or communication difficulties, andoffer sensitive support in emotional situations. Work closely with the LeadSpecialist Nurse/ACP, Anaesthetic Consultant, and MDT, contributing to casediscussions and coordinated care. Produce accurate documentation and assistwith developing communication and educational tools.
Provide support and education to staff on safe and effectivepain management and take part in service development, audit, and quality improvementactivities to support high standards of care.

Qualifications
* Registered General Nurse (RGN) Part 1
* Hold a Nursing Degree or equivalent experience
* To hold or be willing to undertake the Independent non-medical prescribing course (V300)
* Evidence of on-going professional development
* Teaching qualification or teaching experience
* a pain management degree module or other relevant pain management modules or experience working within a Pain Management role
Experience
* Post registration experience including management experience at Band 5/6 in an Acute Setting
* Experience of audit and research
* Demonstrate involvement in change management
