The Technical Engineer – Diesel Generators provides specialist expertise to support customers, resolve technical issues, and deliver high‑quality generator projects. The role combines hands‑on troubleshooting, project execution, and safety leadership while working closely with customers, service teams, and internal stakeholders to enhance performance, reliability, and service delivery.

As a Technical Engineer – Diesel Generators, you will be responsible for:

1. Acting as a primary technical contact for customers and internal teams, resolving escalated technical issues and strengthening customer relationships.
2. Delivering technical input into generator design, innovation, and improvements based on customer feedback and operational insights.
3. Supporting major project execution—including product design, build, installation, and field activities—while maintaining project timelines, budgets, and quality standards.
4. Leading or contributing to HSEQ initiatives, ensuring safe systems of work and compliance with legal and business requirements.
5. Providing technical expertise during contract negotiations and tender processes to help retain and grow customer accounts.
6. Reviewing and document installed telecoms and special‑project generator systems, identifying opportunities to enhance network performance and service capability.
7. Assisting in coordinating and supporting field and workshop service technicians to ensure KPI achievement and high‑quality service delivery.
8. Building proactive technical agendas for key account reviews, engaging with customer stakeholders to advance service offerings and strengthen long‑term relationships.

Fuel your passion

To be successful in this role you will:

9. Have technical certification/apprenticeship in Mechanical Engineering, Electrical Engineering, Diesel Technology, or similar discipline or equivalent working experience.
10. Have proven technical experience with small diesel generators and ancillary items (control systems, engine management modules, etc)
11. Have experience supporting customer accounts and resolving escalated technical or operational issues.
12. Have exposure to project management activities, ideally within rotating equipment, power generation, or industrial equipment sectors.
13. Have working knowledge of HSEQ standards with demonstrated commitment to safety leadership.
14. Be able to read and interpret technical drawings, wiring diagrams, and service documentation.
15. Have a willingness to travel, work occasional out‑of‑hours shifts, and support field activities when required.
16. Be fluent in English.
