Welding Engineer / Coordinator required in Stockport. Due to business growth, this is an outstanding opportunity to join part of a global business operating in the defence industry, supplying equipment to the British military.
The Welding Engineer / Coordinator will be responsible for ensuring compliance with welding standards and procedures across the business, supporting day-to-day welding activities and driving continuous improvement across both new product introduction and legacy programmes.
£60K-£65k + great career prospects and benefits to include:

Key Responsibilities
Act as Responsible Welding Coordinator (RWC)
Support day-to-day welding activities and production engineering
Lead welding-related planning data within SAP
Coordinate internal welder audits and welding accreditation audits
Identify root causes of weld issues and NCRs using structured problem-solving methods
Develop and maintain WPSs, SOPs, and work instructions
Perform pre-audit analysis for EN 1090, ISO 3834, and DIN 2303
Coordinate welder qualification testing to BS EN ISO 9606 and ISO 14732
Review welding suppliers and support welding plant and technology selection
Drive improvements to legacy programmes while maintaining product quality
Experience to Support Your Application IWT / EWT qualified, registered with TWI
CSWIP 3.1 qualified
Proven welding coordination experience
Strong knowledge of MIG/MAG and TIG welding processes
Working knowledge of ISO 3834 and exposure to external audits
Ability to read and interpret engineering drawings
Strong communication, organisational, and IT skills
Experience with mechanised or automated welding systems
Knowledge of DIN 2303 and EN 1090
Experience with aluminium or armour steel
