We are seeking a dedicated and enthusiastic Consultant Clinical Haematologist to join our dynamic team. This is a full‑time position, with part‑time applicants encouraged to apply. The successful candidate will contribute to the provision of clinical and laboratory haematology services for the Worcestershire population, which numbers approximately 550,000.

Responsibilities
 * Provide a high quality clinical haematology service to patients and GPs, including inpatient, outpatient, and outreach clinics.
 * Attend multidisciplinary team meetings and collaborate closely with haematopathologists, radiologists, oncologists and other specialists.
 * Support A&E and acute medicine with timely appropriate haematology care, ensuring efficient patient flow.
 * Participate in the on‑call rota to deliver emergency and urgent services outside normal hours, sharing duties with other consultants.
 * Lead and manage the specialist haematology service, including audit, quality improvement and staff development.
Qualifications
 * Full specialist registration with the GMC (or eligibility within six months of interview).
 * UK‑trained consultants must hold a Certificate of Completion of Training (CCT) in Haematology or be within six months of award.
 * Non‑UK‑trained consultants must provide evidence of equivalence to the UK CCT.
 * FRCPath or equivalent evidence of haematology pathology qualification.
 * MRCP or equivalent evidence of a UK‑recognised senior medical qualification.
Person Specification
Teaching Experience
 * Ability to teach clinical skills to medical, nursing staff and other disciplines.
 * Experience of teaching clinical skills to undergraduates and postgraduates.
Research Experience
 * Ability to apply research outcomes to clinical problems.
 * Awareness of current specialty‑specific developments and initiatives.
 * Evidence of having undertaken original research and publications in peer‑reviewed journals in the last five years.
Clinical Experience
 * Clinical training and experience equivalent to UK CCT Haematology.
 * Expertise in a haematology sub‑specialty.
 * Ability to offer expert clinical opinion on a range of emergency and elective haematology problems.
 * Full and independent responsibility for clinical care of patients.

Management and Administrative Experience
 * Organisation and prioritisation of workload.
 * Audit management and clinical audit experience.

 * Capacity to meet travel requirements of the job and return to the hospital within 30 minutes when on call.
