Role Overview
We are looking to recruit a Band 5 Occupational Therapist to join our team at Hellesdon Hospital in Norwich. The successful candidate will be working in the therapies team and will be given the opportunity to develop their knowledge and skills within acute mental health by working with a Multi Disciplinary Team (MDT).
Key Responsibilities
* Implement person centred OT interventions and assessments and promote the OT profession within this setting.
* Work under the supervision and guidance of an experienced Senior Occupational Therapist to refine your skills.
* Develop strong therapeutic relationships with service users during hospital admission to guide assessments and interventions.
* Work across 2 male acute, 2 female acute and 1 female Psychiatric Intensive Care Unit; may cover other wards during leave or sickness.
* Take a clinical role in OT assessment, planning, implementation, and evaluation of services for clients.
* Contribute to and participate in multi‑disciplinary team assessments.
* Be involved in the planning, development, delivery and evaluation of person‑centred care planning and formulations.
* Provide a first line response to referrals, including health and social care needs assessments as needed.
* Liaise with third sector services within the local community to signpost and engage service users in meaningful activities for recovery post‑hospital.
* Hold a full driving licence and ability to drive trust vehicles for patient activities (desirable).
* Supervise and support an activity coordinator, and learn and share knowledge with this activity worker and the wider team.
