Manchester area-based opportunity with travel across multiple sites/projects in the region.
What you will be doing
As Assistant Quantity Surveyor, you will work closely with your line manager to assist in the commercial administration, reporting and performance on a single large project.
 * Participate in creating a knowingly safe working environment.
 * Use the latest software tools to assist in the cost and value reporting to the business unit.
 * Be involved in the procurement of Subcontract packages including preparation of bid enquiry documentation and critical evaluation of bids.
 * Produce Subcontract documentation for approval for packages procured.
 * Administration of allocated subcontract works packages including interim assessments of the amount due and change management.
 * Assist in the production and issue of commercial notices to Subcontractors.
 * Assist in the management of change in accordance with the form of contract.
 * Provide information to the Commercial team to assist in the production of monthly payment applications to the Client.
 * Liaise with operational and engineering staff.
 * Collate and calculate information required to assist the Commercial team in the production and maintenance of a detailed cost to complete including schedules of Subcontractor liabilities.
About you
 * Good appreciation of standard forms of contract.
 * Strong IT skills including Excel and Word.
 * Experience in dealing with a range of sub-contract packages.
 * Good communicator.
