Purpose of the Role
The Hire Controller will be responsible for managing the hire desk operations, ensuring efficient and effective service delivery to our clients. This includes coordinating the hire of plant machinery, tools, and equipment, maintaining accurate records, and providing excellent customer service. The role supports operational excellence and contributes to the smooth delivery of services across the business.
Key Responsibilities
Hire Desk Operations
* Handle customer inquiries and bookings for the hire of plant machinery, tools, and equipment.
* Coordinate the delivery and collection of hired equipment.
* Maintain accurate and up-to-date records of all hire transactions.
* Prepare hire agreements and ensure all necessary documentation is completed.
Customer Service & Coordination
* Liaise with customers to understand their requirements and provide appropriate equipment recommendations.
* Resolve any issues or disputes related to hire agreements promptly and professionally.
* Provide administrative support to the hire desk as needed.
Equipment Management
* Manage the hire schedule to maximise equipment utilisation and availability.
* Ensure all hired equipment is checked, serviced, and maintained to a high standard.
* Work closely with the maintenance team to ensure the timely repair and servicing of equipment.
Key Skills & Experience
* Proven experience in a similar role, preferably within the plant hire or construction industry.
* Strong organisational and administrative skills.
* Excellent customer service and communication skills.
* Ability to work under pressure and manage multiple tasks simultaneously.
* Proficiency in using computer systems and software for hire management.
* Attention to detail and accuracy in record-keeping.
* Knowledge of plant machinery and equipment is advantageous.
