Position Summary:
Excellent career growth opportunity for a technically strong environmental engineer seeking a new challenge in a fast-paced environment, executing the environmental design of a range of facilities including traditional energy and energy transition projects.
The role would also suite a high performing chemical/process engineer with an interest in environmental engineering, with suitable broad & relevant experience and the willingness to learn on the job to fill any competency gaps as listed.
* Prepare environmental engineering deliverables relating to regulatory compliance, air emissions and water/wastewater treatment.
* Prepare, coordinate, and review designs, studies, reports and proposals.
* Take the initiative to coordinate the design development of a system with other engineering disciplines while managing workload and meeting schedule due dates.
* Show knowledge of and perform standard discipline engineering activities on projects with minimal technical oversight.
* Interface with overall project team and client on a regular basis showing excellent communication skills.
Responsibilities
* Ensure that projects are in compliance with state, federal, and country environmental regulations.
* Manage environmental engineering scope including water & industrial wastewater treatment and drainage philosophy.
* Review permit material for air and effluent emission compliance.
* Develop environmental design basis, process flow diagrams and equipment datasheets.
* Attend of key meetings such as P&IDs review, HAZOP, and 3D model review and providing environmental input.
* Compile technical lists and inventories such as emissions and effluents summaries.
* Deliver excellent quality work, showing thoroughness and rigour in checking and attention to detail.
Qualifications and Skills
Essential:
* Hold a recognized degree in environmental, chemical/process or mechanical engineering from an accredited college or university.
* Display excellent knowledge of technical theory, engineering principles, good engineering practices and how to apply them for design execution.
* Demonstrate ability to work independently with minimal supervision showing a high degree of professionalism.
* Have familiarity with major regulations and industry codes and standards affecting standard design, quality, or processes.
* Be a Chartered Engineer (or equivalent) or show willingness to complete.
Desirable
Any of the following experience is considered as important for this role:
* Working in EPC industry and with large-scale project execution.
* Working on Conceptual and FEED projects.
* Assessing of air emissions from industrial sources.
* Design of water/industrial wastewater systems.
Specific and relevant industrial experience in facilities such as the following would be beneficial:
* Gas Processing and LNG
* Industrial wastewater treatment units
* Energy Transition (hydrogen production, CC&S, methanol synthesis etc)
* Petrochemicals
* Refining
* Desalination plants
