We are now seeking a highly organised and detail-drivenPayroll Officerto support the accurate and timely consolidation of operative timesheets and preparation of payroll data for submission to third-party payroll providers.
Key Responsibilities:
* Collate, validate, and consolidate weekly timesheets from multiple labour sites and operatives.
* Verify shift details, job roles, and pay rates against project-specific rate cards to ensure accuracy.
* Prepare and format payroll spreadsheets for submission to external payroll firms.
* Liaise with consultants and site staff to resolve timesheet discrepancies before deadlines.
* Maintain internal payroll logs and reports, ensuring complete accuracy and audit readiness.
* Ensure compliance with data protection regulations (GDPR) when handling personal pay data.
Essential Skills & Experience:
* Proven experience in payroll administration, ideally within the labour supply or construction sector.
* Advanced Excel skills (including VLOOKUPs, pivot tables, and data cleaning).
* Understanding of PAYE, CIS, and umbrella payroll models.
* Experience working with or alongside third-party payroll processors.
* Exceptional attention to detail and strong organisational skills.
* Ability to work to tight weekly payroll deadlines under pressure.
Desirable:
* AAT or CIPP qualification (or working towards).
* Knowledge of construction labour compliance and documentation.
* Familiarity with HMRC payroll requirements and timesheet systems.
