3-month contract with a local authority
Summary
* We are seeking an experienced Social Worker to join the Herefordshire Council as a Local Authority Designated Officer (LADO) on a 3-month contract. This role is crucial in ensuring the safeguarding of children by managing allegations and providing expert advice across the safeguarding partnership. The successful candidate will play a vital role in maintaining high standards of child protection and implementing effective safeguarding procedures.
Responsibilities
* Chair all meetings related to managing allegations against individuals who may pose a risk to children.
* Challenge decisions made by employers that do not ensure the safeguarding of children.
* Provide advice on interpreting and implementing safeguarding procedures and policies across the partnership.
* Deliver multi-agency training to promote best practices across all sectors.
* Prepare quarterly performance reports to highlight new issues, challenge thinking, and identify learning opportunities.
* Maintain the client information system for adults who may pose a risk to children or have caused harm.
* Comply with and promote the Council's Health, Wellbeing, and Safety at Work and Confidentiality policies.
Essential Experience Required
* Proven experience in providing executive-level administrative support in a fast-paced or high-profile environment.
* Strong diary management and scheduling skills.
* Excellent interpersonal and communication abilities, with confidence in engaging with senior stakeholders.
Essential Qualification Required
* Social Work Qualification - Degree or equivalent.
* Relevant experience within children's services.
* Social Work England Registration.
* HCPC Registration.

* Working hours: 37 hours per week.
