Cleaning Support Volunteer – Ivy Street Community Centre
Volunteering in community centres is extremely rewarding as you will meet people from all walks of life and will be able to make a positive difference to their lives.
The community centre volunteers are passionate about their centre and its activities, and we are looking for more dedicated individuals to help.
Blackburn with Darwen community centres are run by volunteers, each bringing unique skills important for the management of the centre. Volunteers play a crucial role in ensuring that community centres remain accessible to residents.
All roles offer valuable experience and training opportunities.
As a cleaning support volunteer, you will ensure the building remains clean and tidy for the benefit of all users. This includes performing various cleaning duties and following health and safety procedures to protect everyone in the centre.
Please note that all volunteers are required to have a DBS check, which will be arranged before starting.
* Dusting, polishing surfaces, and cleaning windows.
* Documenting routine inspections and maintenance activities.
* Performing deep cleaning periodically.
Required Qualities:
* Previous cleaning experience.
* Problem-solving skills.
* Ability to work independently.
* Adherence to health and safety principles.
* Versatility.
* Ability to work effectively as part of a team.
Training:
Training will be provided as needed, which may include peer support, distance learning, or trainer-led sessions.
