A specialist domestic violence service provider is seeking to recruit a dedicated Engagement Officer who will play a key role in raising awareness of domestic abuse and addressing the unique challenges faced by Black and Minoritised Women and Girls.
Key Responsibilities:
Deliver training sessions to professionals including schools, colleges, and community organisations, on recognising, responding to, and preventing domestic abuse.
Support the development of a culturally responsive approaches to domestic abuse within local services.
Establish and maintain networks to foster collaboration between stakeholders, ensuring more effective support for Black and Minoritised survivors.
Represent the organisation at relevant forums, working groups, and meetings advocating on issues relating to domestic abuse in Black and Minoritised Women and Girls.
Organise and lead outreach initiatives to raise awareness of domestic abuse, its indicators, and the support services available.
Build strong relationships with community leaders, local organisations, and faith groups to enhance awareness and access support services.
Work in partnership with services to increase awareness and support for survivors of domestic abuse, forced marriage, honour based violence, and female genital mutilation - ultimately equipping women and girls with the knowledge and confidence they need to seek help. This approach leads to increased referrals and supports long-term, positive recovery outcomes.
A full driving licence with access to a car is essential for the role.
