The successful candidate needs to be essentially an accredited therapist (or working towards) (HCPC/BACP/UKCP) with experience of eating disorders.
Life Works, located in Woking, Surrey, is a highly respected private rehabilitation centre with a unique therapeutic environment, leading the way in addiction and eating disorder treatment. We treat up to 18 low risk private patients for addictions and eating disorders in a Georgian house surrounded by beautiful gardens. We are easily accessible from the A3 and M25 and a 30 min walk from Woking Train station. Our evidence-based programme uses a combination of group and individual therapies and incorporates experiential elements to help people start the process of treating their Eating Disorder or Addiction in a safe and supportive environment. Our goal is to always treat the individual and ensure we support our clients on their personal journey.
Position Overview:
We are seeking a skilled and compassionate Therapist to join our team at Life Works. The ideal candidate will be a licensed therapist with experience in providing individual and group therapy to clients struggling with mental health disorders, addiction, and co-occurring conditions.
Responsibilities:
1. Conduct comprehensive assessments to determine clients' needs and develop personalised treatment plans.
2. Provide individual therapy sessions using evidence-based therapeutic techniques, such as Cognitive Behavioural Therapy (CBT), Dialectical Behaviour Therapy (DBT), and Motivational Interviewing.
3. Facilitate group therapy sessions, focusing on topics such as relapse prevention, coping skills, and emotional regulation.
4. Collaborate with multidisciplinary teams to ensure coordinated and integrated care for clients.
5. Maintain accurate and confidential client records in compliance with regulatory standards and company policies.
6. Participate in ongoing professional development and training opportunities to enhance clinical skills and knowledge.
Qualifications:
7. The successful candidate needs to be essentially an accredited therapist (or working towards) (HCPC/BACP/UKCP) with experience of eating disorders.
8. Strong understanding of the 12 step philosophy.
9. The successful candidate needs to have experience of working as a therapist with eating disorders. Ideally we would like a therapist who has some training in eating disorders (for example, MANTRA, CBT-E).
10. Strong understanding of evidence-based therapeutic modalities and their application in clinical practice.
11. Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to establish rapport and build therapeutic alliances with clients.
12. Commitment to upholding ethical standards and maintaining client confidentiality.
13. Ability to work effectively both independently and as part of a collaborative team environment.
