Job Title: Operations Manager – FRA / Fire StoppingLocation: EssexSalary: £75,000 – £85,000 + PackageEmployment Type: Full TimeOverviewA leading construction contractor is seeking an experienced Contract Manager on a FRA / Fire Stopping Contract. The role will be to oversee the delivery of fire safety compliance works across residential projects in Essex/London. The successful candidate will manage fire risk assessment (FRA) remedial works, passive fire protection, and fire stopping programmes.This is a pivotal role requiring in-depth knowledge of fire safety legislation and accreditation standards, alongside strong leadership, financial oversight, and contract management capabilities.Key ResponsibilitiesManage the end-to-end delivery of FRA remedial and fire stopping worksEnsure compliance with the Building Safety Act, Fire Safety Act, and other statutory regulationsCoordinate subcontractors, consultants, and specialist passive fire protection teamsControl project budgets, track forecasts, and deliver cost-efficient solutionsConduct site inspections, oversee snagging, and manage handover proceduresMaintain ongoing communication and engagement with residents throughout project lifecyclesProduce accurate project documentation, reports, and maintain full audit trailsLiaise with internal compliance, housing, and asset teamsEnsure works adhere to FIRAS, BM Trada, or equivalent third-party certification standardsCollaborate with fire risk assessors and building control to secure signoffs and certificationsRequirementsExtensive experience managing fire stopping and FRA remedial works, ideally within a social housing environment and construction industry knowledge.Strong understanding of passive fire protection systems and current fire safety legislationFIRAS or BM Trada accreditation is highly desirable.Proven track record in project and contract management.Recognised qualifications such as NEBOSH, SMSTS, or equivalent project/construction safety credentialsExceptional organisational, communication, and client management skills
