MC Technical Recruitment is currently working with a specialist engineering business to recruit a Technical Support Engineer. This role will act as the key technical interface between the company and its customers, providing high-level support on products and systems, troubleshooting issues, and advising on system improvements and upgrades.
This is an excellent opportunity for someone with a strong electricalbackground who enjoys problem-solving, customer interaction, and becoming a true product expert.
As the Technical Support Engineer, you will be responsible for:
* Providing technical support to customers via phone and email, resolving product and system-related queries
* Diagnosing and troubleshooting electrical and controls-based issues
* Acting as a product specialist, developing in-depth knowledge of systems and applications
* Advising customers on system optimisation, upgrades, and new solutions where required
* Supporting internal teams with technical expertise and application guidance
* Producing clear technical documentation and support materials
* Occasionally conducting site visits when necessary
* Attending bespoke product training in Europe (typically once a year)

To be considered for this role you should have:
* A strong background in Electrical Engineering, Controls, Automation or a related discipline
* HNC/HND, NVQ Level 3, Apprenticeship or Degree qualified (or equivalent experience)
* Experience in a technical support, field service, commissioning or controls-based role
* Ability to interpret electrical schematics, wiring diagrams and control system documentation
* Practical fault-finding and troubleshooting experience
* Strong communication skills with a customer-focused mindset
* Willingness to travel to Europe for product training (approximately once per year
