Location: Beverley Minster Offices, Beverley, East Riding of Yorkshire
Contract: Freelance Fixed Term Part Time contract to end December 2026. Maximum Budget £19k based on 2/3 days per week. This role potentially, should a Grant application be successful, extend for three years from approximately June 2027.
The Administrator (Property Management & Health and Safety) is a Fixed Term post whilst the DoO is managing the sustainability of the NLHF Destinations Project. The Administrator (Property Management & Health and Safety) plays a key role in the Minster and Daughter Churches, taking a leading role in managing the many complexities of the Properties and the Health & Safety portfolios. The role will also help support the clergy, staa and volunteer team across the organisation for maintaining and running the various general administrative systems to ensure the most eUcient working methods.
Key Responsibilities
* Overseeing maintenance and repairs across multiple sites, including heritage buildings
* Planning and delivering property maintenance in line with asset management plans
* Managing contractors, budgets, and approvals for works
* Ensuring full compliance with statutory requirements (e.g. gas safety, electrical testing, fire safety)
* Developing and implementing health & safety procedures and training
* Supporting dre safety compliance and audits
* Monitoring and improving access and safety for events and visitors
* Preparing reports for committees and supporting governance processes
* Assisting with general administration, enquiries, and bookings as needed
Requirements
* Previous and practical experience of managing property-related problems, issues, repairs and maintenance, ideally with experience of buildings of signidcant heritage importance.
* Good and up to date knowledge of Health and Safety and other relevant legislation and regulations with a minimum qualification of IOSH Managing Safely and a desirable NEBOSH qualification.
* Positive work ethic and ability to manage own workload, judging when and when not to seek approval.
* A high level of personal organisation and professional administrative skills.
* Advanced knowledge of office systems incl Word, Excel, PowerPoint and Google software
* Good interpersonal skills, engaging easily with people.
