Job Description
I am working with a design and build powerhouse that has secured a major water treatment framework extension across Yorkshire. They are seeking a Lead Commissioning Engineer to plan, manage the programme, and lead a team of MEP engineers to deliver multiple complex projects from design to handover.
This role offers a unique opportunity to develop the commissioning strategy from scratch, ensuring project outputs are produced safely and meet design, client, regulatory, and environmental standards.
Responsibilities include:
1. Providing line management and performance reviews for site-based MEP Engineers within your region.
2. Integrating design, construction, and commissioning of plant and equipment in the Water sector by leveraging mechanical, electrical, and process skills.
3. Serving as the primary contact for Operational and Contracts Managers regarding MEP delivery on schemes within your region.
4. Ensuring MEP delivery and commissioning comply with the Integrated Management System (BIMS) and Operational Safety Standards (OSS).
5. Reviewing health and safety data and implementing improvements as needed.
6. Planning and programming MEP aspects of projects, supporting design, installation, testing, commissioning, and handover.
7. Assigning responsibilities and deploying resources within the MEP team, considering health and safety, training, and competence.
8. Managing site-based MEP and commissioning resource planning.
9. Conducting regular planning and performance review meetings with key supply chain subcontractors.
Requirements:
* ECS and SMSTS certifications (training available for suitable candidates).
* HNC/Degree in Mechanical, Electrical, or Process Engineering, or equivalent experience.
* Understanding of MEP principles within a Civil engineering environment.
* Excellent organizational and problem-solving skills.
* Effective communication skills with team members and stakeholders.
* Valid driving license and willingness to travel across the operational region.
