Electrician
Location: HMP Rochester | Salary: £40,579.20 | Contract: Full Time, Permanent, 39 hours per week
Job Summary
We are seeking a fully qualified Electrician to join our Facilities Maintenance Team at HMP Rochester. The role involves maintaining electrical systems, troubleshooting issues, and working with a multidisciplinary team to ensure a safe and secure environment.
Key Responsibilities
* Maintain and repair electrical installations within the prison environment.
* Conduct preventive and corrective maintenance on commercial and industrial electrical systems.
* Ensure compliance with BS7671:2018 and health & safety regulations.
* Work collaboratively with plumbers, carpenters, painters and other maintenance staff.
* Report faults, advise on safety issues and support improvement of maintenance practices.
Qualifications
* Certificate in BS7671:2018 (18th edition)
* Level 3 qualification in Electrical Installation or Electrotechnical Services (City & Guilds/EAL) including relevant NVQs and competency assessments (AM2/AM2S), e.g., 2367 or 2357.
* Two years’ experience as a fully qualified electrician.
* Experience working on commercial or industrial electrical systems.
* Knowledge of planned and preventive maintenance operations.
* Good health & safety knowledge.
* Excellent organisational, time management and people skills.
