We proactively encourage learning and development and support preceptorship for your first year. There is also a band 5 group for peer support, wellbeing and learning. Mileage expenses are payable, and pool cars available.
You will be expected to work as part of a team to deliver high quality, evidence based and person centred occupational therapy, supporting our integrated model of care focused on enabling people to engage in meaningful occupations. You will have the support of an occupational therapy team, with opportunities to develop your practice and skills in a variety of areas. We are a learning organisation and value supervision and continued professional development.

We are seeking a Band 5 Occupational Therapist to join our rotation, who is interested in developing their career in Carmarthenshire. West Wales is a leading example of an integrated rural healthcare model and offers excellent opportunities to develop your skills in many areas. Our rotations are every 6 months giving opportunities more regularly to learn new skills and be part of supportive and friendly teams.
Carmarthenshire is an area of outstanding natural beauty with access to a wide variety of outdoor activities and cultural events, but also close to the M4. Hywel Dda University Health Board plans and provides NHS healthcare services for people living in Carmarthenshire, Ceredigion, Pembrokeshire, and bordering counties. We have over 13,000 staff and together we provide primary, community, in-hospital, mental health and learning disabilities services. We work in partnership with the three local authorities, as well as public, private and third sector colleagues, including our valued team of volunteers. Our services are provided in:
* Four main hospitals: Bronglais Hospital in Aberystwyth; Glangwili Hospital in Carmarthen; Prince Philip Hospital in Llanelli; and Withybush Hospital in Haverfordwest
* Five community hospitals: Amman Valley and Llandovery hospitals in Carmarthenshire; Tregaron Hospital in Ceredigion; and Tenby and South Pembrokeshire hospitals in Pembrokeshire
* Two integrated care centres: Aberaeron and Cardigan in Ceredigion, and several other community settings
* 47 general practices (six of which are health board managed practices); dental practices (including four orthodontic); 97 community pharmacies; 43 general ophthalmic practices; and 8 ophthalmic domiciliary providers
* Numerous mental health and learning disabilities services
