A client within the Public Sector based in Merseside is currently recruiting for a Technical Officer – Housing Improvements to join their Building Maintenance & Improvements team as soon as possible. The client is offering a full-time, temporary position on an ongoing basis with the ideal candidate having experience of working within a local authority within a housing adaptations and grants environment. The Role Key purpose of the role is to support the Principal Housing Improvement Officer in delivering a comprehensive Home Improvement Service. You will assess housing adaptation requirements, prepare technical specifications, and manage works from design to completion, ensuring compliance with legislation and customer satisfaction. Key responsibilities will include but not be limited to: • Inspecting properties and preparing plans/specifications for housing improvement and adaptation works • Managing technical aspects of grants/loans including contractor instruction and quality assurance • Liaising with clients, occupational therapists, and partner agencies to deliver suitable adaptations The Candidate To be considered for this role you will require: • Experience of delivering housing adaptations or repairs in line with DFG, Decent Homes, or HHSRS • Strong technical surveying skills with ability to prepare specifications and oversee works • Good knowledge of building regulations, c...
