Job summary
We are looking for an enthusiastic Bank Receptionist to join ourestablished team here at Upper Eden Medical Practice. The role is ideal for someone who is reliable, flexible, ateam player and enjoys working with the public.
The role will be on a casual basis and will require the successful applicant to cover any sickness and/or annual leave when called upon.
You'll be working as part of our fabulous administration and reception team, and will contribute to delivering high-quality support for patients. We pride ourselves on being responsive, understanding, and doing the best that we can to address the needs of our patients, and are looking for someone like-minded to join us. This is a bank role to cover annual leave, sickness and any gaps in the rota. The practice is open between 08:00 and 18:30 Monday to Friday.

Main duties of the job
Your main duties caninclude but are not limited to, greeting and directing patients, patientregistration, booking appointments, processing of information (electronic andhard copy), assisting patients as required, answering the phones, administeringrepeat prescriptions, data entry, equipment checks, liaison withmulti-disciplinary teams and general everyday administration duties.
You will be the centralpoint of contact for patients and we need someone who can provide generalassistance to the Practice team and project a positive and friendly image topatients and other visitors, either in person or via the telephone.

1. Tobe the first point of contact for patients arriving at the GP surgeries.
2. Processingconfidential patient information to pass to Clinicians
3.Contactingpatients with appointment times.
4.Keepinga watchful eye on patients waiting to be seen and in the case of worseningsymptoms, alerting a relevant professional.
5. AlertingEmergency Services in the event of an emergency and/or gain help fromwithin the department.
6.Gainan understanding of coordinating workload to capacity.
7. Carryingout equipment checks and reporting issues to the Supervisor.
8. To workautonomously, managing own workload effectively referring to line manager whennecessary.
