Primary Schools | Full-time and Part-time Opportunities | £90 per day
New Directions Education are currently recruiting for dedicated and enthusiastic Learning Support Assistants (LSAs) to work across a range of primary schools in the Newport area.
These roles offer an excellent opportunity to make a real difference in the classroom, supporting pupils with a variety of learning and behavioural needs. You’ll work closely with class teachers to help create a positive and inclusive environment where every child can reach their full potential.
Responsibilities include:
1. Providing one-to-one and small group support to pupils across the Foundation Phase and Key Stage 2.
2. Assisting the class teacher with lesson delivery and behaviour management.
3. Supporting pupils with additional learning needs (ALN) and emotional or behavioural challenges.
4. Promoting a safe, supportive and engaging classroom environment.
What you’ll need to succeed:
5. Previous experience working with children or young people, ideally within a school setting.
6. A caring, patient and proactive approach to supporting learning.
7. Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
8. An Enhanced DBS certificate registered with the Update Service (or willingness to obtain one through New Directions).
