Job overview

· Support the delivery of national screening programmes in Wales by providing essential pathway administration functions, including scheduling, processing data, extracting, and analysing information for participant screening records and handle participant communications.

· Maintain high standards of accuracy and confidentiality when managing participant information and programme data.

· Collaborate with team members and other health professionals to ensure the smooth operation of screening pathways.

· As part of the Screening Pathway function the postholder will be asked to work across screening programmes as required

Person specification


Qualifications

* 5 GCSE A*-D or 9-3 including English Language or equivalent qualification
* NVQ Level 3 or equivalent qualification and/or equivalent level of skills and knowledge
* Willingness to work towards a Diploma in Screening (Level 3)
* Knowledge of Healthcare/ Anatomy Physiology/Medical Terminology


Experience

* Experience of administrative systems and procedures in an office setting
* Experience of working within the NHS
* Experience of dealing with the public
* Ongoing evidence of sell directed learning and personal study


Skills and attributes

* Proficient in the use of standard Microsoft software, such as Outlook, Teams, Word and Excel
* Welsh Language Skills at level 4 or 5 in understanding, speaking, reading, and writing in Welsh
* Ability to demonstrate understanding and application of our workplace values, together with the underpinning behaviours identified for success in this role
* Excellent interpersonal and communication skills
* Excellent organisational skills with the ability to prioritise own workload and work to deadlines
* High level of accuracy and attention to detail
* Ability to work effectively as part of a team to achieve shared goals, contributing ideas and supporting colleagues as needed
* Good levels of literacy and numeracy with the ability to extract and identify relevant clinical data
* Flexible approach to meet the needs of the service
* Foundational understanding of screening programmes

* Ability to travel between sites in a timely manner to meet the needs of the service as required
* Ability to work across screening programmes as required

The salary scale shown is for a full-time member of staff, with the amount being adjusted pro rata for those working less than 37.5 hours per week.

In general, anyone joining our Trust who has not previously worked in the NHS will, by default, start on the first point of the advertised pay band. Pay progression will then be determined by annual Performance and Development Reviews in accordance with the NHS Wales Pay Progression Policy .An application for Incremental Credit may be considered, but can only be awarded based on evidenced, reckonable service and/or equivalent, relevant experience.
