Regrettably we are not currently able to offer sponsorship opportunities About the Company We are Oasis 2 Inclusion Academy Limited and we offer a Day Service to young adults who have a learning/physical disability. We support the students (as they want to be called) to improve their communication and independence skills to help them lead a healthy and active life in an age approriate setting There are 8/9 students per day supported by 3/4 staff members - subject to the difficulties and needs students might have. We have a different topic each week which is chosen by the students which helps them learn more about the world we live in. Our days are fairly structured with art/crafts activities usually in the morning with the afternoon where they bake cakes etc or lunch, play games, activities, boccia, walking, going to the pub for lunch or out into the community. Their days are varied and they are kept busy, active and motivated. In addition, we hold regular zumba dance sessions, fitness sessions, sound healing sessions and yoga. Our aims for our students is that they are kept busy, interested and have a fun day and that we offer them a quality service which they deserve. Why should I apply for this Support Worker job? • Our staff are very supportive not only to the students but each other. • Oasis 2 is very relaxed and calm and visitors say what a lovely atmosphere-we are firm but fair. • The students are great fun to be with and it is rewarding to see them make lasting friendships and all love the banter that goes on • It is also great to see them become more confident, improve their communication skills and improve in so many ways. What does this Support Worker job involve? Hours of Work:3 or 6 Hours Per Day - 0 Hour Contract. 09:00 - 15:00 • Help set up the room prior to the students arriving. • Supporting our students to achieve more independent by making their own drinks and tea. Helping them with their art and craft work yet encouraging them to do things for themselves. • Generally, we all work as a team and share the work to make our service a service offering quality care. • Most of our students do not need daily help with their personal care but we are there to support them if they do. • All of our students have Care plans, PBS Plans (how they communicate and what they find difficult), Targets, Profiles, Risk Assessments. • Oasis also has policies in place such as personal care, safeguarding, whistleblowing, fire procedures, epilepsy/challenging behaviour procedures etc. Am I the right person for this Support Worker job? • We are looking for someone who is caring, compassionate, respectful, willing to learn more about the students we support and treat them with kindness and understanding and contribute to the quality care we offer. • Experience of working with young adults who have learning disabilities would be an advantage but not essential - as long as you are caring and willing to support these young adults.
