Overview
Acorns Children's Hospice are looking for a Children's Palliative Clinical Lead to join the team in our Three Counties Hospice, Worcester. The Clinical Lead manages a multi-disciplinary team, develops programmes of care and provides nursing care to children and young people with a range of complex health needs, life-limiting or life-threatening conditions.
Responsibilities
* Manage and be responsible for the supervision and development of a large multi-disciplinary team consisting of all grades of nursing staff, students and support workers
* Manage and coordinate the clinical area, participating in direct patient care and supervision of staff
* Demonstrate expertise in symptom management and end of life care including after death care, to support staff to develop skills
* Participate in the development and implementation of new initiatives and contribute to the advancement of clinical practice within the hospice
* Promote communication with the children and young people, encouraging them to express their wishes and concerns to their best ability (this may include non-verbal, electronic or alternative communication methods)
About You
* Registered Nurse
* Non-medical prescriber (or willing to undertake)
* Leadership experience
* Experience of palliative care
* Care and Assessment of the acutely unwell child

Requirements and Additional Information
You need to be eligible to work in the UK. This role is subject to an enhanced DBS check for children and two satisfactory references. Evidence of immunisation against specific diseases or willingness to receive vaccinations is required. We are committed to safeguarding children and vulnerable adults.
