Are you passionate about inclusive education and supporting pupils with special educational needs? A welcoming and inclusive mainstream school is seeking a Qualified SEN Teaching Assistant to join their dedicated team. This is a fantastic opportunity for an experienced, empathetic and motivated TA to work one-to-one or in small groups with pupils who require additional support due to a range of needs including ASD, ADHD, SEMH, speech and language, and learning difficulties.
About the Role:
You will support students with EHCPs both in and out of the classroom, assisting them to access the curriculum, develop independence, and thrive emotionally and academically. You’ll work closely with the SENCO, class teachers, and external professionals to ensure high-quality provision.
Key Responsibilities:
Provide 1:1 and small group support for pupils with SEN
Implement tailored learning interventions and behaviour strategies
Assist in the delivery of differentiated lessons and activities
Monitor and record pupil progress and provide feedback to teachers and parents
Promote positive social interactions and emotional regulation
Support personal care or mobility needs where required (training provided)
Liaise with parents, therapists, and external agencies
You Must Have:
A Level 2 or Level 3 Teaching Assistant qualification (CACHE, NCFE, City & Guilds or equivalent)
Experience supporting children with SEND, ideally in a school setting
Strong knowledge of ASD, ADHD, SEMH or Speech & Language needs
Excellent communication, teamwork and organisational skills
Additional training in Team Teach, PECS, Makaton or Thrive
Experience working in a PRU, resource base or alternative provision
Knowledge of EHCPs and SEND Code of Practice

All pay rates quoted will be inclusive of 12.07% statutory holiday pay. This advert is for a temporary position. In some cases, the option to make this role permanent may become available at a later date.
