We have an exciting opportunity for an Operations Supervisor to join our team in Minworth/Birmingham. The Operations Supervisor will oversee business operations, delegate tasks to team members, and resolve problems during their shift.
How you will contribute
* Responsible for all on-shift Health, Safety, and Environmental issues, including safety incident investigations and implementing corrective actions. Ensure all employees understand the importance of safe working practices and adhere to site H&S procedures.
* Identify and implement corrective actions for issues affecting departmental KPIs and specify process improvements to enhance operational performance.
* Represent the department at internal and external customer meetings. Communicate shift issues and performance during team briefs, attend team reviews, and conduct board walks.
* Manage manpower resources effectively to support customer delivery and Lean Manufacturing principles, including CI activities. Drive absence control procedures to maximize attendance and handle personnel issues per company policy.
* Maintain accurate Standard Work documentation, audit employees against standards, and coach employees and team leaders to maintain process standards and foster a zero-tolerance attitude towards deviations.
* Identify departmental training needs using company tools (training matrix, gap analysis) to maximize employee versatility, and ensure all training is documented and signed off.
* Drive departmental quality objectives, conduct PPS activities, and perform root cause analysis for premium freight, scrap costs, or stock losses.
* Assist production with engineering changes, trials, model changes, and pilot builds.
* Implement contingency plans, escalate and direct activities during system problems or disasters, identify potential issues, troubleshoot, and suggest process improvements.
* Review ongoing performance against targets, take corrective actions, and escalate when necessary.
* Provide effective supervision to warehouse managers and teams, enforcing company standards.
What you will bring
* At least two years of supervisory experience.
* Strong leadership skills, integrity, and resolve.
* Understanding of business planning.
* Solid skills in data analysis and performance metrics.
* Ability to diagnose problems quickly and anticipate issues.
