This role is positioned within our Volume Motor Litigation Unit which deals with motor litigation across MOJ, OICP, Small Claims and Fast Track claims to the value of £100k. The unit is made up of distinct file handler teams managing the different work types previously mentioned.
The unit offers clear progression pathways, both technically and operationally allowing candidates to continue their career journey within the business.
The role of the paralegal is within our support hub which provides support to the litigation teams across a variety of tasks on their files. The role provides a basic insight into the litigation process and file handling process across several different work types.
The role would suit a pre-litigation file handler looking to take their first steps in to litigation or a law graduate looking for an opportunity to start their legal career.
All claims would be handled on behalf of key insurer clients as Defendant.
Full induction training will be provided along with continued on the job training and supervision.
Key Accountabilities
* Complete initial steps in recovery of our Client’s outlay and collate the outcome.
* Undertake minor investigations on liability and quantum so as to provide File Handlers with basic information to be able to progress the claims.
Undertake administration duties on files, such tasks may include completion of MI; drafting write off forms, requesting final bills and dealing with billing queries; and file closure/transfer activities.
Working Hours
Part-Time - 21 hours per week
Primary location for this role is our Bolton office
Experience, Skills and Qualifications
* Established interest in law either through further education or experience within a process driven legal environment.
* Ability to plan and prioritise workloads.
* Good team worker with the flexibility to do what is required to get a result and ensure client service levels are met.
* Good understanding IT packages.
* Excellent listening and verbal communication skills.
* Ability to follow instruction with attention to detail.
