Job Summary
We are looking for a highly experienced consultant psychiatrist to join our CAMHS Acute Care Team within the Derbyshire Healthcare NHS Foundation Trust. The role involves providing specialist psychiatric care for children and young people, leading clinical teams and contributing to strategic planning.
Key Responsibilities
* Provide psychiatric assessments, including assessment of risk to self and others.
* Manage patients under the CAMHS Crisis and Liaison pathway, including risk assessment and management.
* Liaise with community teams, families and agencies supporting children and young people in crisis.
* Ensure appropriate use of the Mental Health Act, providing medical recommendations for community assessments and 136 Suites, and take part in MHA assessments of emergency cases.
* Support MHA RC duties and, where necessary, support colleagues in T4 CPA discharge reviews to minimise length of stay in T4 and enhance community care packages for CYP being discharged.
Professional Qualifications
* Essential: MB BS or equivalent medical qualification; fully registered with the GMC with a licence to practise at the time of application.
* Desirable: MRCPsych or equivalent.
