Our procurement department identifies and manages the procurement of all parts and services involved to the manufacturing process of our products. You will join a fast paced a team based at either our Woodchester or Miskin site and will be closely involved in the sourcing strategy for a wide range of products, commodities, and suppliers from around the world.
We are looking for a Senior Buyer to take ownership of supply chains and procurement of all new electronic components and PCBs for the NPI area of the business or our electronics components and PCBs for our current products area. You will be well versed in balancing competing priorities around quality, value, risk, compliance, and sustainability. You will take pride in your personal development, be curious, kind and motivated to take ownership of your work.
Responsibilities
1. Development of the sourcing strategies in conjunction with design and commodity buyers to ensure they align with the technical and commercial needs of the business.
2. Effective management and control of any new supply chains introduced to the business, to ensure that excellent service levels are provided and maintained, and that project requirements and time scales are met.
3. Ensuring project timescales are met for new product development manufacturing builds and market launch of new products.
4. Supplier price negotiation and management to ensure project cost management targets are realised and maintained.
5. Control of stock and planning parameters within an ERP environment.
6. Proactive and ongoing identification and management of Risk.
7. Liaison both internally and externally to support resolution of quality and supply related issues and problems.
8. Management of supplier performance and relationships.
Key requirements
9. Minimum 2 years’ procurement experience
10. The ability to communicate effectively at all levels both internally and externally will be required for this role.
11. Strong negotiation, supplier management and communication skills.
12. Commercial acumen with the ability to analyse information and make informed decisions.
13. Degree, CIPS qualifications, completed Modern Apprenticeship or demonstrable time served.
14. Skilled in MRP/ERP, Microsoft Office, Word, and Excel
15. Full driving licence.
Desirable requirements
16. An understanding of the electronic component market covering manufacturers, distribution channels and technical considerations of this commodity would be an advantage although full training will be given to the right candidate.
17. Previous experience in an NPI environment would be an advantage although training will be provided to the right candidate.
18. Experience of MRP/ERP and Stock Control processes will be a distinct advantage, although training will be provided to the right candidate.
Person Specification
As the successful applicant for this position, you will be a strategic thinker and be willing and able to challenge custom and practice to achieve positive outcome in the areas of NPI and supply chain management. You will also have excellent negotiation skills and be able to demonstrate the ability to creatively solve problems and drive change that improve business performance and sustainability.

Accuracy and attention to detail are important to you and allow you to achieve success in your role within the fast-paced procurement environment. You will be comfortable communicating to people at all levels of the business and will be able to demonstrate the value you can bring in working as part of a team.
