Job Specification – Remediation Engineer Location: Site based, Nationwide Department: Technical Reports to: Senior Scientist Employment Type: Permanent, Full-time Role Summary This is a fantastic opportunity to join a growing remediation and enabling works contractor. The Remediation Engineer will play a key role in delivering technical aspects of projects, both on-site and in the office. The position requires strong fieldwork skills, data collection and analysis, and technical reporting. The ideal candidate will combine practical site experience with analytical ability and be comfortable liaising with stakeholders at all levels. Responsibilities Operate and maintain field equipment for soil and groundwater sampling. Log soils and accurately record environmental observations in line with specifications and standards. Collate, manage, and analyse technical site data as directed by senior staff. Liaise with clients, regulators, and other stakeholders during project delivery. Support project and site managers with day-to-day site operations. Procure and manage technical consumables and equipment. Prepare Health & Safety documentation before and during site works; promote safe systems of work. Participate in internal and external project meetings, contributing technical insight. Support in the preparation of technical reports, verification documents, and project audits. Travel to various project sites nationwide, with flexibility for short and extended assignments. Experience & Qualifications Essential: Minimum 3 years’ experience in remediation, contaminated land, or geo-environmental engineering. Practical knowledge of environmental permitting regulations. Strong background in environmental site assessment and remediation techniques. Working knowledge of site operations and H&S practices. Full UK driving licence and flexibility to travel nationwide. Proficiency in Microsoft Office (Word, Excel, Outlook). Excellent communication and organisational skills. Ability to prioritise workload across multiple live projects. Desirable: Degree in Environmental Science, Geology, Civil/Environmental Engineering, or related discipline. Asbestos Awareness training. CSCS card or equivalent certification. Working toward professional accreditation (e.g., CGeol, CEnv, or equivalent). Desired Attributes Positive and adaptable attitude with a strong work ethic.
