Weld Engineer / Welder
Location: Richmond, Indiana; Type: Permanent / On Site
Pay Range: $75k - $90k
Weld Engineer required to join a U.S.-based industrial manufacturing partner delivering precision fabrication, tooling, and welding solutions for demanding, regulated industries.
Responsibilities
* Serve as the technical authority for all welding activities
* Develop and qualify WPS, PQR, and WPQ documentation to applicable codes
* Standardize and optimize welding processes for quality and efficiency
* Support robotic welding procedures and documentation
* Provide technical input on joint design, materials, and weldability
* Oversee weld qualification testing and coupon evaluation
* Provide CWI-level inspection oversight (internal and suppliers as needed)
* Ensure compliance with customer, regulatory, and quality requirements
* Support and improve the welding elements of the Quality Management System
* Train, mentor, and qualify welders and inspection personnel
Minimum Requirements
* Certified Welding Inspector (CWI) certification (required)
* Strong working knowledge of AWS, ASME, API, MIL, and applicable welding codes and standards
* Deep working knowledge of welding codes and standards
* Experience working with MRP or production planning systems
* Experience supporting production and quality systems in a manufacturing environment
* Commutable to Richmond, IN
