Highways Development Engineer Location: Essex Are you an experienced and motivated engineer looking to make a real impact on the future of highways infrastructure? Our client is seeking a talented Highways Development Engineer to join their Development Management team, working on a high-profile contract in partnership inEssex. In this exciting role, you'll use your expertise to lead and carry out technical assurance for developer-designed highway schemes. You'll ensure the highest standards of service delivery for planned works while contributing to the broader vision and priorities of the County Council. What You'll Be Doing: ·Review and approve detailed designs for new highways and improvements to existing infrastructure ·Ensure developer works are suitable for adoption by the Highway Authority ·Represent the Highway Authority in local planning consultations ·Provide clear, timely advice to developers, councillors, and stakeholders ·Attend and chair design meetings, respond to technical queries, and manage statutory processes ·Initiate and support the legal adoption of developer infrastructure ·Liaise closely with internal teams, local councils, and the public ·Assist and occasionally deputise for senior engineering staff What We're Looking For: ·A degree, HNC, or equivalent experience in highways or civil engineering ·Proven experience in delivering highway schemes within major development projects ·Sound understanding of the Highways Act 1980, CDM 2015, and relevant legislation ·Strong attention to detail, communication, and stakeholder management skills ·Competency in Microsoft Word, Excel, and PowerPoint ·A full UK driving licence is desirable, as site visits are a key part of the role What you need to do now: If you are interested in this role and fit the criteria above, please send us your application today.
