We are excited to be recruiting for a newly created role within established and growing Finance team. This is a unique opportunity to join a stand-alone function, working directly alongside highly experienced leaders in the sector.
We are seeking a commercially minded Financial Controller to support the Divisional Financial Manager in driving performance across a portfolio of contracts. This is not a traditional, desk-based finance role; instead, you will operate at the heart of the business, working closely with operational teams to analyse performance, challenge assumptions, and deliver actionable financial insight.
This role is ideally suited to an analytically strong, ambitious individual looking to accelerate their career within a dynamic and evolving finance function.
Key Responsibilities
* Analyse financial performance across the division, identifying drivers of underperformance and opportunities to improve profitability
* Interrogate P&L data at a detailed level, with a focus on cost control, labour efficiency, and commercial outcomes
* Partner closely with operational stakeholders to provide clear, data-led insights and support decision‑making
* Support the preparation of budgets and forecasts, ensuring accuracy and alignment with operational realities
* Review and improve financial processes, identifying areas of non‑compliance and supporting best practice across the division
* Assist in the preparation of client-facing financial outputs, ensuring clarity, accuracy, and commercial relevance
* Utilise finance systems and advanced Excel to extract, manipulate, and present data effectively
About You
* AAT qualified or actively studying (CIMA/ACCA part-qualified candidates also considered)
* Experience working with management accounts and analysing financial performance
* Strong analytical mindset, with the ability to interpret data and translate it into meaningful insight
* Confident communicator, comfortable working with and influencing non-financial stakeholders
* Proactive and detail-oriented, with a willingness to challenge and improve existing processes
* Advanced Excel skills and experience working with finance systems
