About The Department
The Adviser business at Aberdeen provides support, expertise and technology for financial advisers in the UK, enabling them to create value for their businesses and clients. This team is committed to a product operating model that empowers teams to be autonomous and accountable, fostering innovation from concept to delivery. We lead the design, discovery and delivery of cutting‑edge digital products and services for Financial Advice firms.
About The Role
Join our agile engineering team as a Cloud Engineer, where you'll design and maintain scalable, secure and cost‑efficient cloud infrastructure. Collaborate with product teams to deliver modern cloud solutions powered by automation and AI. This is a great opportunity for an experienced engineer passionate about cloud technologies, DevOps, and continuous improvement. You'll help build platforms that support financial advisers and their clients, with access to mentorship, technical training and a clear path to Engineering Lead.
Key Responsibilities
* Design and deploy secure cloud infrastructure on Azure for real‑time financial operations.
* Automate provisioning and configuration with tools like Terraform, ensuring compliance and consistency.
* Build CI/CD pipelines with integrated security, testing and regulatory checks.
* Monitor performance and security to ensure high availability and early issue detection.
* Ensure regulatory compliance by implementing technical controls aligned with FCA and data protection standards.
* Collaborate across teams to support full lifecycle development and deployment.
About The Candidate
* Hands‑on experience with Microsoft Azure, including containerisation, serverless functions and microservices.
* Proficiency in infrastructure‑as‑code tools like Terraform or Ansible, with governance and version control.
* Strong CI/CD pipeline development skills, including automated testing and security integration.
* System administration expertise across Windows and Linux, with performance tuning and uptime management.
* Deep understanding of cloud security, identity management and regulatory compliance (e.g. FCA, GDPR).
* Excellent communication skills, with the ability to explain technical concepts to non‑technical stakeholders.
