Learning Support Assistants – Finchley – May/June Start

Axcis Education is seeking enthusiastic Learning Support Assistants (LSAs) to join a welcoming mainstream secondary school in Finchley. This is a full-time opportunity to support students with additional learning needs and help them thrive academically and personally.
As an LSA, you will work alongside teaching staff to deliver tailored support across various subjects. Your responsibilities will include adapting learning resources, encouraging classroom engagement, and fostering independence and confidence among students.
What we’re looking for:
* Prior experience in secondary school environments and understanding of supporting students with Special Educational Needs.
* A calm, adaptable attitude and strong communication skills.
Key Duties:
* Provide targeted support for students with additional needs within the classroom.
* Assist teachers by differentiating lesson content to meet individual learning styles.
* Deliver one-to-one or small group interventions as required.
* Promote a positive learning environment, boosting students' confidence and independence.
* Collaborate with class teachers and the SEN department to support individual learning plans.
Requirements:
* Experience supporting students in a secondary school setting is preferred.
* Knowledge of SEN strategies and best practices.
* A patient, encouraging, and flexible approach.
* Enhanced DBS certificate on the update service or willingness to obtain one.
