HBG Recruitment are looking for a skilled and detail-oriented Pipe Fitter to join on of our clients who are establishedin the food processing sector.
Key Responsibilities: Pipe Fitter
Install and assemble stainless steel pipe systems (including hygienic-grade tubing) according to technical drawings and specifications.
Cut, thread, bend, and weld pipes using appropriate tools and techniques, including TIG welding.
Ensure all pipework is compliant with food safety regulations and designed for cleanability (CIP/SIP systems).
Perform preventative and reactive maintenance on process piping and associated valves, pumps, and fittings.
Collaborate with engineers, maintenance, and production teams during new installations, upgrades, or plant expansions.
Carry out pressure testing and inspection of piping systems to ensure leak-free and sanitary operation.
Maintain accurate records of work performed and materials used.
Follow site-specific safety and hygiene protocols at all times.
Requirements: Pipe Fitter
Proven experience as a Pipe Fitter in the food, beverage, or pharmaceutical industry (or other hygienic environments).
Strong ability to interpret P&IDs, isometric drawings, and layout plans.
Skilled in TIG welding, especially with stainless steel and thin-wall tubing.
Familiar with hygienic fittings (e.g., tri-clamp, dairy fittings) and clean piping practices.
Good understanding of HACCP, GMP, and other food safety standards.
Strong problem-solving skills and attention to detail.
Ability to work independently or as part of a team.
Relevant trade qualification or apprenticeship in pipe fitting, welding, or mechanical engineering.
