As a supervising social worker in the county wide fostering team you will be responsible for supporting, assessing and supervising foster carers to ensure they are providing high-quality therapeutic care to the children they are looking after. You will play a crucial role in working alongside foster carers and their families to advise, inspire, support, and challenge them to grow in confidence and achieve their potential.
Carers and children will also rely on you to create supportive and nurturing relationships, so you will need to show that you've had previous social work experience, with a record of working with young people who have a history of trauma.
You will need to develop positive working relationship with professionals involved with our looked after children and have good communication skills since you will be working in a highly collaborative environment. The role of the supervising social worker is to ensure our children and young people are safe and secure, that they are well looked after, and that our high standards are consistently maintained.
