As a Customer Team Leader, you will lead a small team in a fast‑paced Co‑op store, helping to deliver essential services to your community. Depending on your store, you may work in our post office, bakery, support online services, or home‑delivery drivers. Whatever the day brings, you will play a key role in making life easier for our customers, keeping our shelves stocked, supporting sales, and engaging with local and national charities. You will also be a champion for Co‑op membership, helping to drive the growth of our unique business.
Responsibilities
* Own day‑to‑day running of the store by leading the team on your shift
* Motivate, coach, and support your team to deliver great service and efficient operations
* Work hands‑on on the shop floor and tills, handling transactions on the post office counter and supporting daily operations
* Support store performance through merchandising, stock accuracy and HR processes
* Champion Co‑op through community engagement and membership growth
* Help maintain high standards and ensure the store is safe, well‑stocked and presentable, leading by example and doing the right thing
Qualifications
* Passion for people and leadership
* The ability to work flexibly and lead by example
* Skills in retail, merchandising or team management (experience not essential)
* Minimum age 18 years old (to authorise age‑related sales)
Working Pattern
A mix of opening, closing and mid‑day shifts, including at least two evening shifts and one weekend shift. Flexibility across the week is required and will be discussed during the interview.
