Overview
We have an opportunity for a Specialist Nurse to join our team in the Outpatients department. This role requires coverage of a flexible shift pattern.
Duties of This Role Include
* Deliver safe, high-quality, evidence-based care within your area of specialism, acting as a clinical expert and role model.
* Support assessment, diagnosis, treatment planning, and ongoing management of patients with complex or long-term conditions.
* Provide education, support, and counselling to patients and families, empowering them to understand and manage their health conditions.
* Work collaboratively with consultants, GPs, allied health professionals, and other nursing colleagues to support integrated, patient‑centred care.
* Lead or support audits, patient feedback initiatives, and quality improvement programmes related to your specialist area.
* Provide clinical expertise on the treatment of complex wounds, including pressure ulcers, leg ulceration and major reconstruction surgery such as DIEP surgery.
* Develop and implement protocols to prevent skin breakdown and pressure ulcers in patients.
Applicants Should Meet The Following Criteria
* Registered Nurse (Adult, Child, or Mental Health, depending on specialty) with valid NMC registration.
* Experience in wound care, typically requiring specialized post‑registration training at Level 6 leading to Level 7, such as postgraduate certificates in Wound Management.
* Significant post‑registration experience in the relevant specialty area.
* Demonstrable specialist knowledge and advanced clinical skills within a defined field.
* Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
* Ability to work independently and as part of a multidisciplinary team.
* Additional experience supporting plastic and cosmetic surgery would be an advantage.
