Site Agent – Rail & Civil Structures
Location: Kent, Sussex & Wessex area

Morson & Vital are recruiting on behalf of a major rail infrastructure partnership delivering multidisciplinary civil and structural renewals across the Southern region.
This is a fantastic role for someone who excels in pre‑construction, planning, engineering coordination and project management rather than day‑to‑day site supervision. You will be central to delivering safe, well‑planned, technically robust projects across a variety of rail structures.
What You’ll Be Doing
As a Site Agent, you will take ownership of multiple structures projects, leading all pre‑construction planning and engineering management activities. Responsibilities include:
Project Planning & Programme Management
* Develop detailed long-term construction programmes
* Produce plans, methodologies, access strategies and logistics documentation
* Prepare and review WPPs, RAMS, risk assessments, permits and other HSEQ documentation
* Lead the construction planning input into multi-disciplinary project teams
Engineering & Design Coordination
* Work closely with designers (internal & external) to resolve technical issues
* Review design packages, drawings and specifications
* Support constructability reviews, temporary works coordination and engineering assurance
* Escalate and resolve engineering queries during project development and delivery
Commercial & Subcontractor Management
* Manage subcontractor procurement for your projects
* Oversee cost forecasting, variations and package budgets
* Coordinate subcontractors during planning and delivery phases
Project Delivery Support
* Lead project meetings, progress reviews and third-party coordination
* Ensure compliance with Network Rail standards, CDM and all relevant rail regulations
* Interface with access planning, possessions, isolations and asset management teams
What We’re Looking For
* Rail and civil structures background (bridges, culverts, walls, retaining structures, tunnels, strengthening, renewals)
* Experience planning and managing rail projects within a safety-critical environment
* Strong knowledge of construction methods, temporary works and civil engineering principles
* Proven experience producing high‑quality pre‑construction documentation
* Ability to manage and coordinate design interfaces
* Strong stakeholder coordination experience (Network Rail, designers, subcontractors)
