Pembrokeshire County Council is seeking to appoint an Administration Officer to provide high‑quality administrative support to the Education Welfare Service.

About the Role

You will provide comprehensive administrative support to the Education Welfare Service Manager, Education Welfare Officers, and the Elective Home Education team. The role supports statutory processes including:
* Penalty Notices for non‑attendance
* Child Performance and Child Employment applications
* Chaperone Licences and associated training support
* Elective Home Education administration and statutory Welsh Government reporting
* Financial administration including raising and monitoring invoices
* Clerking and administrative support for panels, meetings, and person-centred reviews
You will also support performance monitoring through data collection, report production, and the effective use of IT systems, ensuring accuracy, confidentiality, and compliance with legislation, corporate procedures, and safeguarding requirements.

About You

You will have:
* Experience of providing senior administrative support, ideally within a local authority or education setting
* Strong IT skills, including confidence using Excel and databases
* Experience handling confidential and sensitive information
* The ability to manage competing priorities and meet statutory deadlines
* Excellent communication skills and the ability to work effectively with a wide range of stakeholders
You will be highly organised, detail‑focused, and able to work effectively both independently and as part of a team.

Essential Skills & Qualifications
* NVQ Level 3 or GCSEs in Administration (or equivalent).
* Strong IT and keyboard skills with experience in software packages and database systems.
* Excellent organisational and communication skills.
* Ability to manage workloads and meet deadlines under pressure.
* A collaborative team player.
